Spanish ribbed newts generally reach about 8-9 inches and are a fully aquatic species. They can live communally given the proper size of aquarium is provided. A 20 gallon tank is recommended for one newt to give the most space possible. Temperature should be kept between 65-75F. healthy ribbed newts can sometimes tolerate higher temperatures, but anything above the mid 80s is generally regarded as too high for ribbed newts. Most captive bred Spanish Ribbed Newts readily take commercial pellets food, we feed our ribbed newts a repashy mix, which is a higher grade food, which they really enjoy. If you would like to know more about them or any other reptile we have, you can call or email the store for more information.
