    FAQ's

My pump seems to be making a lot of noise. Should I be concerned?

Q Series air pumps are quiet, so excessive noise is not normal. First, check any items connected to the pump for excess backpressure that may be building up. For example, air stones can plug up over time and need replacement. Then, open the pump and ensure that all rubber parts (i.e. diaphrams and bushings) are intact and in working order.

Why is water leaking out of my air pump?

When positioning an air pump below water level, back-siphoning can occur if an air pump check valve has not been used.

The air output has reduced. What do I do?

Check any items connected to the pump for excess backpressure that may be building up. For example, air stones can plug up over time and need replacement. Then, open the pump and ensure that all rubber parts (i.e. diaphrams and bushings) are intact and in working order.
